Meet Yurriyangem Taam National Park
WA is celebrating a new national park in the Kimberley!
Plan for Our Parks has already seen so many new parks announced this year, and we’re excited to share one more.
The new Yurriyangem Taam National Park is another big win for WA’s nature and speaks to the huge success of Plan for Our Parks, which aims to create five million hectares of conservation areas in WA — that’s 5 million more reasons to fall in love with this amazing state!
By taking action, leading, and supporting the campaign, you have helped create a legacy that WA can be proud of.

These new parks make a big difference to WA. Yurriyangem Taam National Park will:
- Create jobs for Kija people to manage and work on Country.
- Provide nature-based tourism opportunities to attract visitors.
- Support our regions by diversifying economies.
This park will also protect more of the Martuwarra-Fitzroy River, one of the WORLD’S most pristine and free-flowing river systems, as well as WA’s unique animals like the Gouldian finch, freshwater sawfish and purple-crowned fairy wren for future generations. How good!?
Together, we’ve created an amazing legacy for WA and have made a BIG difference, but let’s not stop now!
