About Us

WA Better by Nature is about protecting the places that make Western Australia so special: towering forests of the south west, vast ranges of the western deserts, the rugged spinifex plains of the Pilbara, and the tropical savannahs and sandstone of the Kimberley. WA is home to world-class biodiversity that shapes our very identity and way of life. Nature isn’t separate to who we are—it’s part of us—it’s about culture, lifestyle and what it means to be a Western Australian.

But right now, nature is facing some pretty big challenges and we need to do a better job of looking after it. From invasive species to habitat loss and climate change, our unique WA nature is doing it tough, and without action we risk losing the places, species and stories that define us.

That’s where you come in. We’re working to grow and show support for WA’s network of protected conservation areas through measures like new national parks, Indigenous-led conservation, and public-private partnerships that bring people and communities together to help look after our great state.

It’s a practical vision that supports jobs, tourism, regional economies and cultural connection—and looks after our nature, it’s a win-win for WA.

Because West Aussies look after our own, and when we back our nature, we’re also backing a healthier, stronger future for everyone who calls WA home. It’s time to stand together for nature again, and this time, let’s do it even better.
